"The holiday seems a long time ago….. but it was absolutely fantastic. Everything about it was spot on. The right length of time in each place, wonderful accommodation, perfect locations, etc etc I could go on. From the moment we touched down in the Cape we were just stunned at how beautiful the whole place was." Cheers Duncan.

15 intrepid botanists
By Barbara Last

These15 intrepid botanists, with Bob and Geoff and Mike
Set out for deepest Africa to see what they could seek
They saw a lot of lovely flowers of every shape and hue
Red, white, pink and orange, purple, quit a few.

These 15 intrepid botanists, with Bob and Geoff and Mike
The birds they saw aplenty, on rocks and on the wires
Pied crows and yellow weavers, to keep us all inspired
Flamingo, Kites and Heron
Egrets and Sacred Ibis, Blue Cranes that all had heard

These 15 intrepid botanists, with Bob and Geoff and Mike
There were Wildebeest and Hartebeest and antelopes galore
And glimpses of a Bat eared fox to make us want more
They found a grasshopper a crawling through the grass
A three Horned Adder in a hole, Puff adder on the pass

These 15 intrepid botanists, with Bob and Geoff and Mike
One day they clambered up the rock where Bushman had expired
And left their little hieroglyphs most inspired
They waded through torrents full of crocodiles no doubt
Although we didn't see them. I am sure they were about

Those 15 intrepid botanists, with Bob and Geoff and Mike.
