Our escorted safaris follow in the footsteps of the early naturalists in the Cape: Anders Sparrman, Johannes Burmann and William Burchell to name but a few. These pioneering travellers discovered numerous new species of plants, birds and mammals as they ventured into unexplored lands.

Southern Africa contains as many as 14 different vegetation types, ranging from the snow-capped mountains of the Drakensberg to the Karoo semi-desert to the Cape fynbos. Each region has its "specials" which we will help you find. The total regional bird count exceeds 900 species, of which 113 are endemic.

The Cape Fynbos is one of the great wonders of the Botanical world. In an area of only 9 000 square kilometres are packed over 8,600 plant species. It is so diverse and unique that it is classifed as one of the 6 floral kingdoms in the world.

Our National Parks are world leaders in the conservation of wildlife and offer a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. The parks and private game reserves play host to over 300 mammal species, including the "Big Five" (Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard). We also boast the best land-based whale-watching in the world.
